Dr. Wendy Marshman
Dr. Wendy Marshman is an Australian and internationally trained ophthalmic surgeon. She specialised in paediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus as well as cataract surgery and glaucoma management in all ages.
She completed her medical degree at the University of Melbourne, and then worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital after graduation. She lectured in in anatomy at the Medical Faculty prior to undertaking a Doctorate of Medicine in the Neurosciences Department at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. After completing her thesis, Dr. Marshman commenced her training in ophthalmology at the Royal Victorian Ear and Eye Hospital, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital over the next three years. In 1996 she obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists.
Dr. Marshman moved to Vancouver, Canada, where she completed a fellowship in paediatric ophthalmology at British Columbia's Children's Hospital. She then moved to London for a further fellowship in strabismus and electrodiagnostics at Moorfield's Eye Hospital and at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. She also researched the neural mechanisms of binocular vision.
Dr Marshman's fellowships addressed all areas of ophthalmic surgical techniques pertaining to paediatrics and adults. Currently, she is a consult ophthalmologist at the Royal Children's Hospital, the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear hospital, and is a senior lecturer in the university department of ophthalmology.
